The simplest and the first thing a beginner housewife cooks is a boiled chicken, i.e. making chicken stock and soups. However, there are several types of stocks and if properly prepared, you will get a very delicious, interesting and full value meal.
The main thing to know is how to boil a chicken, so that you can prepare various kinds of soups later.
It is better to use fresh chicken for cooking chicken stock. You can also use giblets (neck and back), as not meat but bones are the ingredients adding special aroma to the stock. Cooking a chicken stock takes several hours from 2,3 to 4 hours. It should be cooked on very low temperature, though no worries - you do not need to constantly stand by the stove – you can meanwhile attend to other tasks.
